What is Solar Energy?
In recent years, solar energy has become a hot topic for most. While most of us know solar is about adding some panels to your home we thought you might like to find out a bit more.
So what exactly is solar energy and what does it mean for you?
Solar energy is a type of renewable energy, meaning the energy (in this case electricity) is derived from a source that never runs out- that big Sun. Renewable energy is not only less intrusive to the planet in how it is generated but it also produces lower CO2 emissions than traditional energy generation methods.
Installing a solar energy system to your home can provide you both environmental and personal benefits. Not only could you feel better about how you and your family are using electricity at home by utilising solar, but in some cases if you produce enough electricity through your solar panel system, you are eligible for a solar rebate through your energy provider.
How does solar energy work?

To be able to generate solar energy, you will need to install solar panels to the roof of your home. These solar panels convert the energy produced by the sun into energy that can be used by your household appliances and hot water systems. If the solar panels you have installed generate more electricity than you are using, the excess electricity will be fed back into the grid, making you eligible for credits on your energy invoice. Meaning you could be saving money on your energy!
