Previously known as Victoria Electricity, Lumo Energy is an Australian electricity and gas retailing business, we are based in Melbourne and are wholly owned by Infratil Investments Ltd. Lumo Energy secured its electricity retail license for the State of Victoria in August 2002. It commenced retailing electricity in February 2004 after a satisfactory wholesale supply was secured. Lumo Energy was granted a license to retail gas in Victoria in December 2004 and commenced retailing gas in early 2005. Since then our client base has continued to grow within New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland and Victoria.

Are you generating a form of renewable energy such as solar, wind, hydro or biomass generators?

In Victoria, households that operate small-scale renewable energy systems can receive an offset on their energy costs for electricity they help generate. Any generated energy that is not used is fed back into the national power grid for other Aussies to use, the household will then be reimbursed for supplying this renewable energy and this offset will appear on the bill.
