PFIT Changes

Victoria Solar Energy Tariff Change

On 1 September 2011 The Department of Primary Industries (DPI) in Victoria announced that offering Premium Feed-In Tariffs (PFIT) for new solar installations will come to a close on 30 September 2011. After this date Victorian residents with solar energy will be put onto a Standard Feed-In Tariff until 1 January 2012 and will then be put on to a Transitional Feed-In Tariff with a 25 cent buy back rate.

So what does this mean for you?

Already on PFIT?

If you are already on PFIT, don't worry, you will remain on this set up until 31 December 2024 and will receive a minimum guaranteed amount of 60 cents buy back rate.

What if your Solar is installed but you are not yet on PFIT?

You are going to need to get some forms to Lumo Energy as soon as possible. When you had your Solar installed an Electrical Work Request form (EWR) and Certificate of Electrical Safety (CES) form would have been filled out by the Solar Installers and then collected by an Inspector when they came to your property to check the installation. Your installer will need to get these to us before 30 September 2011. It may pay to contact your electrician if you are unsure of whether the forms have been forwarded to your retailer.

You will also need to fill out a Premium Feed-In Tariff (PFIT) application form and send to us as soon as possible.

You can Download the PFIT application for here

The quickest way to get this to us is by fax or scanning and emailing it. If you choose to post it, please be sure to allow for 5 business days for it to be delivered and remember it has to reach us before 30 September 2011.  Details on where to send it are below

Fax: 1300 136 891

Address:    PO Box 632
                 Collins Street West
                 VIC 8007

Already sent off your EWR, CES and PFIT forms?

From here Lumo Energy can raise a request with your distributor to get them to complete the job of installing a new bi-directional meter or reconfiguring the one you already have. This may take up to 7 weeks to complete with that last minute rush. Please endeavour to correctly fill out your application and paperwork (EWR, CES & PFIT) by the 30th Sept so we can progress your request a soon as possible.
