Lumo Energy Re-Energises The Queensland Reds

Queensland Rugby and Lumo Energy have announced a partnership that is expected to provide substantial benefits to both partners and their stakeholders.

Queensland Rugby's community rugby initiatives will also get a lift by receiving a direct donation back to local Queensland Rugby clubs as a result of the partnership.

As a Major Sponsor and official energy partner of Queensland Rugby & the Reds, Simon Draper, Chief Executive Officer of Lumo Energy explained that the strength of the community rugby model combined with the re-emergence of the Reds as a rugby powerhouse were compelling reasons for entering the partnership.

"Queensland is an important market for Lumo Energy, and no other sporting model gives us reputable brand alignment as well as the opportunity to make a positive difference to community rugby clubs. We are thrilled to be supporting Queensland Rugby at such an exciting time for the Reds and Rugby in general.

Queensland Rugby's General Manager Community Rugby, David Hanham said he is delighted that Lumo Energy is getting involved with Queensland Rugby and the Reds.

"The partnership is another example of Queensland Rugby pursuing like-minded partners who will support both the elite and the community levels of the game."

Mr Draper explained that investing in the Reds was an easy decision.

"The fact that we are also investing in rugby across a broad area is also very attractive. We want to be able to offer a tailored electricity product in Queensland so everyone they can benefit from the way we do business."

Mr Draper also congratulated the Reds on their First XV Membership Campaign which is nearing the target of fifteen thousand members.

"The success of this campaign is an important milestone and sends a positive message about the importance of rugby in the Queensland market".
