Snowy Hydro’s energy retailer Lumo Energy is expanding its bushfire financial assistance to support volunteer firefighters and help more customers affected across Victoria and South Australia.
With the scale of the bushfire disaster, Lumo Energy has expanded its financial assistance and is providing more help with the following measures:
Since the bushfires started in November 2019, more than 44,000 customers across Snowy Hydro’s retail brands have been identified as living in the worst bushfire-affected areas and the Customer Care Team has been making contact with them to provide help and support.
Snowy Hydro’s Chief Executive Officer, Paul Broad, said the fires had caused destruction across regional communities with many people, families and businesses affected.
“We’ve helped hundreds of customers to date, sadly, we’ve also identified dozens of customers who have lost their homes and their bills will be completely waived.
“The loss of life, homes and property across a number of States has been devastating and we would like to extend our deepest sympathies to everyone who has been impacted.
“Our sincere thanks goes out to each and every volunteer firefighter and all emergency services personnel. Your dedication and commitment in the face of this disaster has been invaluable and an enormous service to the community,” Mr Broad said.
Any customers in bushfire-affected areas should call the Customer Care Team at their convenience on 1300 115 866 to have their bill credit applied immediately.
