Adelaide Fringe announces Lumo Energy SA as 2021 Community Partner

Adelaide Fringe has announced Australian-owned energy retailer Lumo Energy SA as its inaugural Community Partner for the 2021 Fringe.

Lumo Energy SA offers award-winning customer service and a choice of energy plans with exclusive access to local rewards. As an energy retailer, it is committed to giving back to the community, and supporting and contributing to local events.

Adelaide Fringe Director and CEO Heather Croall says the new community partnership reflects Lumo Energy SA’s dedication to the performing arts community.

"It’s wonderful to see our Community Partner, Lumo Energy SA, jumping on board and showing its support to Adelaide Fringe, the biggest arts festival in the Southern Hemisphere," Ms Croall says.

General Manager of Lumo Energy SA Marketing David Holman says the inclusivity, fun and celebration of the Adelaide Fringe are all qualities that the brand values.

“We believe there’s never been a more important time to support the Adelaide Fringe. COVID-19 has obviously presented many challenges particularly for those in the performing arts and hospitality industries. Fringe is a great way for the community to get behind our homegrown talent while enjoying food and wine, and we can’t wait for Lumo SA to be part of that come February 2021," Mr Holman says.

To celebrate the partnership, the energy retailer is throwing its support behind the Adelaide Fringe’s Invest in the Arts crowdfunding appeal by matching the first $10,000 worth of funds raised tomorrow (Thursday 19 November). The appeal supports artists and venues to develop and present their 2021 Fringe season.

People can support the initiative by browsing profiles online and selecting the artist or venue they wish to donate to, helping to ensure their Fringe event is brought to life.

Ms Croall says the appeal match-funding day goes a long way in assisting artists, venues and audiences to bounce back from COVID-19.

“Any donation, big or small, will be matched by Lumo Energy SA, and will be donated directly to the artist or venue of your choice," Ms Croall says.

“As our Community Partner, Lumo Energy SA will also be supporting Adelaide Fringe in taking our e-ticketing to the next level ensuring an even more eco-friendly and COVID safe festival.”

The 2021 Adelaide Fringe will run from 19 February until 21 March. Donations over $2 are tax-deductible. For more information visit adelaidefringe.com.au.
